Practicum
Practicum gives students the exposure to experienced teaching and allows participants to learn from hands on work, as well as interact with seasoned education veterans. Attached below are three different practicum assignments that were implemented during my coursework.
Research and Defend
Librarians need to be advocates and be able to present documented research that support school libraries, librarians and the need for teaching information literacy lessons. In order to best show the benefits of libraries, technology was used for presentation as it also highlights what skills and techniques students can learn, acquire and rely on from being a participant in a strong library media program.

Information Literacy Lesson

Author / Illustrator Unit
The author and illustrator chosen was Ezra Jack Keats, a product of the New York City public schools.
While traditional read alouds were necessary to introduce students to the author's great works, I also used technology to add a twist to creating 21st century products that would engage and stimulate students. Students were immersed in writing in order to produce summaries, connections and visual and audio projects.
Attached below are the various strategies used to promote Ezra Jack Keats and the MP3 book talk files that the students made.
